Afrobeats star Davido is officially on Kick. On Oct 10, the platform's X account posted a welcome video showing a crowned Davido in a green suit. Davido replied within the hour: "Check cleared! Let's play!" That post has passed 850K views. Fans are already calling him Kick's first African artist ambassador.
The announcement
Kick's welcome clip (@kick) and Davido's "check cleared" reply together passed 1.6M views in about a day. Kick's Instagram account (kickstreaming) shared the same welcome reel, and Davido reposted it.
Why it matters
Davido has been showing up on Nigerian streamers' broadcasts for months. He's one of the biggest names Kick has brought in from outside the US/EU creator pool, and the move signals a push into the fast-growing African streaming scene.
What the internet is saying (unverified)
These are public X reactions and rumors, not confirmed facts.
"That bag must be very heavy!" A viral post (5.5K+ likes) says Kick billed him as its new ambassador.
Some fans claim Davido "used these streamers to position himself" for the deal.
Rumors say a Peller x Davido Kick collab is coming, and that he's a Stake ambassador too. Neither has been announced.
Others are asking whether Davido will still pop up on Carter Efe's Twitch streams now that he's with Kick.
Some replies point out that no formal ambassador contract has been publicly announced.
